In 2007 Facilities Operations split into two departments: Sustainability and Energy Management and Buildings and Grounds Maintenance. The Department of Sustainability and Energy Management (SEM) leads the initiative to advance sustainability in campus operations and oversees campus utilities and transportation services. The Department of Buildings and Grounds Maintenance is the operations and maintenance side of the organization which functions as stewards of campus physical assets and a provider of support services. BGM is dedicated to being the service provider of choice. In everything we do, we strive to deliver high quality, reliable, and innovative services that are responsive to the changing needs of the Stanford University community.
